new picture again

Resurrection
oil, eggtempera and acrylic on canvas (linen)
90 x 45 cm

Another one in my chinaesk-series. A lot of Chineses are buddhists - this religion didn`t die, it lived in
the underground, sunken into fog of privacy, unforgotten.
And now the people can show it openly. It´s growing and growing.
The old temples are getting restored and monks live there again. In Hangzhou you can find a mountain with a lot of buddhas, bashed into the stone. And opposite is one of the revived temples.
I loved it.

The Buddha is great!!!
What you tell about the Buddhism in China is an interesting detail one never hers about in any news. It shows chinese people in another light especially in the context of what is happening now in Tibet.

It reminds me of what people all over the world may have thought about us in eastern germany during the cold war if they would have judged us only due to what they have seen on TV or read in Newspapers: a sheepherd following the big red brother?
Maybe something like this.
But the truth was, that in many private corners there survived a certain kind of freedom, creativity an individualism which made the revolution in 1989 possible to happen.
So thats what came up in my mind first, while reading what you tell about the buddhism in China.

I like the colors of this painting.
And did I say it already?:
The Buddha is great!

Thanks for this nice review. Did I told you, that I like such things? *ggg*

Yeah, what you tell about the differences between Tibet and China is exactly what I had in my mind, too. It´s always easy to point with the finger to someone or something what doesn´t go conform with your own opinion. There is always the word "the" ... the Chineses, the muslims etc. etc. But it´s not that easy, of course. It´s so important to look at the individuals, there you can find a real opinion, and it changes from people to people. In the end there isn´t such a thing like "the chinese opinion".

So I can follow your way to east germany. Sometimes I have the feeling there were much more individualism and creativity and critical faculties. The most people didn´t believe that easy what reporters and politicians said ... it´s only one side of two *ggg*

Oh, and did I thank you for your review? *laughs*
